"The fear of death
is behind all fears, and it is the fear of not existing. Fear is
what stops people from seeing God, and it stops them from loving.
Fear is like an ancient old man.
As you sit in an open wooded
area thinking about a new challenge, fear comes. Fear always comes
with the unknown. Build a camp fire, and invite the old man to sit
with you. Offer him a warm cup of tea and sit there, noticing the
flames of the fire. If you run from him, he will chase you and become
bigger. But, when you sit with him, and just allow him and his presence,
he drinks his tea and wanders off into the darkness, leaving you alone.
Fear can only have power
over you, if you give it away. You are still the one with the power,
but you have then chosen to place it some other place. You can still
choose to move power back to you and your consciousness, at any time ..."
