The 30 Second Breathing Exercise is a
fast way to release stress. Use this method daily, when you feel
that you need to calm yourself down and be more present.
Close
your eyes, and gently watch your breath. Your body knows how to
breathe, and all that you are trying to do is pay attention to your
breathing, and what your body does naturally. When you mind comes in
with a thought, just go back to focusing on the breath again. Eventually
you will get very good at doing this, and you will find yourself
connecting to the calm place that is already inside
of you. You are not making yourself relax, you are going to a
calm place that is already inside of you. At home, you can do this
exercise with your eyes closed. And, when you are in line at the store, and people are ahead of you, you can just lower
your eyes and watch your breath. No one will know that you are calming
yourself. This easy method can be done almost anywhere. When you are waiting at your PC for something to print,
or download, you can lower your eyes to the keyboard, and just breathe.
When a commercial comes on the TV, you can turn the sound off for a
moment, and do this exercise. The calm place that you are seeking
is within, and it was there when you were born. And, it is
still there. Reconnecting with the calm will help you to be more of who
you really are."
